The beginning of the good message of Jesus Christ.
Mark 1:1

In the beginning was the Word,
and the Word was with God,
and God was the Word.
This was in the beginning with God.
All things came to be through him,
and without him not one thing came to be which has come to be.

In him was life,
and the life was the light of human beings;
and the light shines in the darkness,
and the darkness has not comprehended it.
John 1:1-5

It was the true light,
which enlightens every person, coming into the world.

He was in the world,
and the world through him came to be,
and the world did not know him.
He came to his own,
and his own did not accept him.

But as many as did accept him,
he gave them authority to become children of God,
to those believing in his name,
who were born not from blood nor from the will of flesh
nor from the will of man, but from God.

And the Word became flesh and resided among us,
and we saw his glory,
glory as the one who came from the Father,
full of grace and truth.
John 1:9-14

Since many have undertaken to draw up a narrative
about the matters that have been fully carried out among us,
as the eyewitnesses and those who became servants of the word
gave them over to us from the beginning,
it seemed good to me also,
having investigated everything carefully from the top
in order to write to you, most excellent Theophilus,
so that you might recognize the certainty of the accounts
you have been instructed about.
Luke 1:1-4

These are the secret words which the living Jesus spoke,
and which Didymos Thomas wrote.
