As the crowd was pressing him
and listening to the word of God,
he was standing beside the lake Gennesaret.
He saw two boats standing beside the lake;
the fishermen having gone away from them
were washing the nets.
Embarking in one of the boats, which was Simon's,
he asked him to put out a little from the land;
and sitting he taught the crowds from the boat.
When he stopped speaking, he said to Simon,
"Put out into the deep,
and let down your nets for a catch."
Simon answered, "Master,
laboring through the whole night we took nothing,
but upon your saying I will let down the nets."
Having done this they enclosed a large quantity of fish,
and their nets were being torn.
They signaled to the partners in a different boat
to come help them,
and they came and filled both boats
so that they were sinking.
Simon Peter seeing fell down at the knees of Jesus
saying, "Go away from me, for I am a sinful man, Lord."
For wonder seized him and all those with him
at the catch of fish which they took.
Jesus said to Simon and his brother Andrew, "Fear not;
come after me, and from now on you will take living people."
Bringing in the boats to land
and leaving everything they followed him.
He saw James and John, sons of Zebedee,
who were Simon's partners,
and immediately he called them.
Leaving their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired men
they went away after him.
