95. The Body Is Laid in a Tomb.
Joseph of Arimathea, one of the good Jewish leaders,
took the responsibility for the burial of Jesus' body.
He and Nicodemus carefully placed the body in a new tomb
with the customary linen and spices.
Since the Sabbath was rapidly approaching, they closed the tomb.
The women had not had the time yet to anoint the body;
therefore they planned to return after the Sabbath.
Some of the high priests and Pharisees were so concerned about his prophecy
that he would rise on the third day that they even came to Pilate on the Sabbath
to request a guard be posted around the tomb; Pilate granted the request.
