5. Birth of John the Baptist.
The birth of Elizabeth's child and the naming of him John by her and Zacharias
had a joyful effect on the relatives and neighbors whose hearts were touched.
After his long, silent vigil Zacharias was inspired with a prophecy about his son,
that this was a fulfillment and a continuation of the
ancient prophecies regarding their relationship with God.
This child would go ahead and prepare people to know their salvation
and release
their sins, past errors, and guilt, and move from darkness into greater light and peace.
