THE GOOD MESSAGE OF
JESUS THE CHRIST
Interpretation

8. Visit of the Magi and Flight to Egypt.

Magi were the priests of the Zoroastrian religion in Persia; they were particularly expert in astrology, the science which studies the relationships between human events and time periods as indicated astronomically. In 6 BC when Jesus was probably born, there was a conjunction of Mars, Jupiter and Saturn in the sign of Pisces. Since in the 25,868-year cycle known as the precession of the equinoxes, the equinoctial point was moving from Aries to Pisces, the astrologers knew that the religion for the next age of two thousand years would utilize the symbolism of the fish, water, and be concerned primarily with belief.

Abraham and Moses had brought forward the religion of Aries and Libra (the opposite sign) through the symbolism of the ram, fire sacrifices, the lamb, and the law of balance. Now was coming a religion of salvation through faith and the harvest of the virgin. (Virgo is opposite Pisces.) This was to be a significant transition, because Aries and Pisces represent the beginning and the end. Now the precession of the equinoxes is moving from Pisces into Aquarius, the age of knowledge in which the Holy Spirit is being poured forth to all people, and friendship and the commonality of humanity will abound.

Herod had his astrologers and scholars of prophecy also, but the magi in addition to occult science were also attuned to the guiding Light or star. The wise Persian priests accurately found the child who was the promised one and presented their gifts as further confirmation for the parents. Since Herod's intentions were violent and harmful, the magi were guided by a dream to avoid any more contact with Herod.

Joseph also received divine guidance to flee to Egypt, an ancient culture of esoteric wisdom where the parents of Jesus were very likely trained and taught in spiritual ways. Herod, trapped in his own negativity of fear, jealousy and anger, had innocent babies murdered before dying himself in the year 4 BC. Again guided by a dream the family of Jesus returned to the parts of Israel where the Essene network preparing for the new messiah was very strong.
