Mark 15:6-15
Matthew 27:15-26
Luke 23:13-25
John 18:39-19:16

And at the feast he released to them
one prisoner whom they requested.
And there was one called Barabbas imprisoned with the rebels,
who had committed murder in the rebellion.
And the crowd going up began to request
that he do it for them as usual.

But Pilate answered them saying,
"Do you want me to release to you the king of the Jews?"
For he knew that the high priests
had given him over because of envy.
But the high priests stirred up the crowd
so that instead he should release Barabbas to them.

And Pilate answering again said to them,
"Then what should I do with the one
you call the king of the Jews?"
And again they shouted, "Crucify him!"

And Pilate choosing to satisfy the crowd
released to them Barabbas,
and having whipped him he gave Jesus over
so that he might be crucified.
Mark 15:6-15

And at the feast the governor was accustomed
to release to the crowd one prisoner whom they wanted.
And they had then a notorious prisoner called Barabbas.
So when they had gathered, Pilate said to them,
"Which one do you want me to release to you,
Barabbas or Jesus the one called Christ?
For he knew that they had given him over because of envy.

And as he was sitting on the judicial bench,
his wife sent to him saying,
"Have nothing to do with that just one;
for I suffered many things today in a dream because of him."

But the high priests and the elders persuaded the crowds
that they should request Barabbas, and destroy Jesus.
And the governor answering said to them,
"Which of the two do you want me to release to you?"

And they said, "Barabbas."

Pilate says to them,
"Then what should I do with Jesus called Christ?"

They all say, "Let him be crucified."

But he said, "Then what evil has he done?"

And they shouted even more saying, "Let him be crucified!"

And Pilate seeing that nothing was helping
but instead an uproar was occurring,
taking water he washed his hands in front of the crowd
saying, "I am innocent of this blood; you see to it."

And all the people answering
said, "His blood be on us and on our children."
Then he released to them Barabbas,
but having whipped Jesus he gave him over
so that he might be crucified.
Matthew 27:15-26

And Pilate calling together the high priests
and the rulers and the people said to them,
"You brought me this person as one alienating the people,
and look, I having examined him before you found nothing
in this person guilty of what you accuse against him.
And neither has Herod; for he sent him back to us;
and look, nothing has been done by him that is worthy of death;
therefore having disciplined him I will release him."

But all together they cried out
saying, "Take this one, and release to us Barabbas;"
who had been thrown in prison
because of some rebellion occurring in the city and for murder.

And again Pilate called to them, wishing to release Jesus.
But they called out saying, "Crucify, crucify him!"

And a third time he said to them,
"Then what evil has this one done?
I found nothing deserving of death in him;
therefore having disciplined him I will release him."

But they insisted with loud voices requesting he be crucified,
and their voices prevailed.
And Pilate decided to grant their request;
and he released the one who had been thrown into prison
because of rebellion and murder, whom they had requested,
and he gave Jesus over to their will.
Luke 23:13-25

"But it is your custom
that I should release one to you at the Passover;
therefore will you choose
that I may release to you the king of the Jews?"

So they shouted again saying, "Not him, but Barabbas."
And Barabbas was a robber.

So then Pilate took Jesus and whipped him.
And the soldiers having woven a crown out of thorns
put it on his head, and dressed him in a purple robe,
and came to him and said, "Hail, king of the Jews;"
and they gave him slaps.

And Pilate went outside again and says to them,
"Look, I am bringing him out to you,
so that you may know that I find no guilt in him."

So Jesus came outside,
wearing the thorn crown and the purple robe.
And he says to them, "Look, the person."

So when the high priests and the attendants saw him,
they shouted saying, "Crucify, crucify!"

Pilate says to them, "You take him and crucify him;
for I find no guilt in him."

The Jews answered him, "We have a law,
and according to the law he ought to die,
for he made himself son of God."

So when Pilate heard this word, he was even more afraid,
and he went back into the praetorium
and says to Jesus, "Where are you from?"

But Jesus did not give him an answer.
So Pilate says to him, "Aren't you speaking to me?
Don't you know that I have authority to release you
and I have authority to crucify you?"

Jesus answered, "You do not have any authority against me
unless it has been given to you from above;
for this reason the one who gave me over to you
has a greater sin."

From this Pilate tried to release him;
but the Jews shouted saying, "If you release this one,
you are not a friend of Caesar;
everyone who makes himself king speaks against Caesar."

So Pilate having heard these words brought Jesus outside,
and sat on the judicial bench
in a place called Stone Pavement, and in Hebrew Gabbatha.
And it was the preparation day of the Passover,
about the sixth hour;
and he says to the Jews, "Look, your king."

So those shouted, "Take him, take him, crucify him!"

Pilate says to them, "Shall I crucify your king?"

The high priests answered, "We have no king except Caesar."

So then he gave him over to them to be crucified.
