Matthew 26:42-46

And having sung a hymn
they went out to the Mount of Olives.
And Jesus says to them, "You will all fall away,
because it has been written:

I will strike the shepherd,
and the sheep will be scattered.

But after I am raised, I will lead you to Galilee."

And Peter said to him,
"Even if everyone falls away, yet I will not."

And Jesus says to him, "Amen, I tell you that
today this night before the cock crows twice
you will deny me three times."

And he spoke with greater emphasis,
"Even if I must die with you, I will not deny you."
And they all said the same thing.
Mark 14:26-31

And having sung a hymn
they went out to the Mount of Olives.
Then Jesus says to them,
"You will all fall away from me on this night;
for it has been written:

I will strike the shepherd,
and the sheep of the flock will be scattered;

but after I am raised I will lead you to Galilee."

And Peter answering said to him,
"If everyone falls away from you, I never will."

Jesus said to him, "Amen, I tell you that
on this night before the cock crows
you will deny me three times."

Peter says to him,
"Even if I must die with you, I will not deny you."
And all the disciples said the same.
Matthew 26:30-35

Simon Peter says to him, "Lord, where are you going?"

Jesus answered,
"Where I am going you cannot follow me now,
but you will follow later."

Peter says to him, "Lord, why can't I follow you now?
I will lay down my life for you."

Jesus answers, "Will you lay down your life for me?
Amen, amen, I tell you, the cock may not crow
until you deny me three times."
John 13:36-38

"Simon, Simon, look, Satan demanded to sift you like wheat;
but I begged for you so that your faith might not fail;
and when you have returned, support your brothers."

And he said to him, "Lord,
with you I am ready to go both to prison and to death."

But he said, "I tell you, Peter, the cock will not crow today
until you deny knowing me three times."

And he said to them,
"When I sent you without purse and wallet and sandals,
were you lacking anything?"

And they said, "Nothing."

And he said to them, "But now whoever has a purse
let him take it, likewise also a wallet,
and whoever does not have one
let him sell his clothes and buy a sword.
For I tell you that what has been written
must be completed in me:

And he was counted with the transgressors;

for the thing about me has an end."

And they said, "Lord, look, here are two swords."

And he said to them, "It is sufficient."
Luke 22:31-38

Having said these things Jesus went out with his disciples
across the ravine of Kidron, where there was a garden,
into which he and his disciples entered.
John 18:1

And they come to an area with the name of Gethsemane,
and he says to his disciples, "Sit here while I pray."
And he takes along Peter and James and John with him,
and he began to be distressed and anxious,
and he says to them, "My soul is sorrowful till death;
stay here and keep awake."

And going forward a little he fell upon the ground,
and prayed that if it was possible
the hour might pass away from him,
and he said, "Abba, Father, all things are possible with you;
remove this cup from me;
however, not what I will but what you will."

And he comes and finds them sleeping,
and he says to Peter, "Simon, are you asleep?
Were you not able to keep awake for one hour?
Keep awake and pray, lest you come into temptation;
the spirit is eager, but the flesh is weak."
Mark 14:32-38

Then Jesus goes with them to an area called Gethsemane,
and he says to the disciples,
"Sit here while I go over there to pray."

And taking along Peter and the two sons of Zebedee
he began to be sad and anxious.
Then he says to them, "My soul is sorrowful till death;
stay here and keep awake with me."

And going forward a little he fell on his face praying
and saying, "My Father, if it is possible,
let this cup pass away from me;
nevertheless, not as I will but as you will."

And he comes to his disciples and finds them sleeping,
and he says to Peter,
"So could you not keep awake with me for one hour?
Keep awake and pray, lest you enter into temptation;
the spirit is eager, but the flesh is weak."
Matthew 26:36-41

And going out he went
according to habit to the Mount of Olives;
and the disciples also followed him.
And coming upon the place he said to them,
"Pray not to enter into temptation."

And he withdrew about a stone's throw away from them,
and kneeling he prayed saying, "Father,
if you choose remove this cup from me;
nevertheless, not my will, but let your will be done."

And an angel from heaven appeared to him strengthening him.
And being in agony he prayed more fervently;
and his sweat was like
drops of blood falling down upon the ground.

And standing up from the prayer,
going to the disciples he found them sleeping from the sorrow,
and he said to them, "Why do you sleep?
Stand up and pray, lest you enter into temptation."
Luke 22:39-46

And going away again he prayed saying the same word.
And coming again he found them sleeping,
for their eyes were weighed down,
and they did not know what they should answer him.

And he comes a third time
and says to them, "Sleep the remainder and rest up;
it is enough; the hour has come;
look, the human son is given over into the hands of sinners.
Rise, let us go;
look, the one giving me over has drawn near."
Mark 14:39-42

Going away again a second time he prayed saying,
"My Father, if this cannot pass away unless I drink it,
let your will be done."
And coming again he found them sleeping,
for their eyes were heavy.
And leaving them again going away he prayed a third time,
saying the same word again.

Then he comes to the disciples and says to them,
"Sleep the remainder and rest up;
look, the hour has drawn near."
Matthew 26:42-46
