THE GOOD MESSAGE OF
JESUS THE CHRIST
Harmony

Mark 13:1-31
Matthew 24:1-35
Luke 21:5-33

And as he was going out of the temple,
one of his disciples says to him,
"Teacher, look, what stones and what buildings!"

And Jesus said to him, "Do you see these great buildings?
There may not be a stone left upon a stone
which is not thrown down."

And as he was sitting on the Mount of Olives
opposite the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew
questioned him privately, "Tell us,
when will these things be, and what is the sign
when all these things are about to be accomplished?"

And Jesus began to tell them,
"See that no one leads you astray.
Many will come in my name saying, 'I am he,'
and they will lead many astray.

"But when you hear of wars and rumors of wars,
do not be disturbed;
it must happen, but it is not yet the end.
For nation will be raised against nation
and sovereignty against sovereignty.
There will be earthquakes in various places;
there will be famines;
these are the beginning of the birth pangs.

"But watch yourselves;
they will give you over to councils,
and you will be beaten in synagogues,
and you will stand before governors and kings for my sake,
for testimony to them.
And the good message must first be preached to all the nations.

"And when they lead you delivering you,
do not worry beforehand about what you should say,
but whatever is given to you in that hour, speak that;
for it is not you speaking but the Holy Spirit.

"And brother will give over brother to death and father child,
and children will rebel against parents and put them to death;
and you will be hated by all because of my name;
but whoever endures to the end, will be saved.

"But when you see the devastating abomination
standing where it must not be,
let the one reading understand,
then let those in Judea flee to the mountains,
let the one on the roof not come down
nor go in to take anything out of his house,
and let the one in the field not turn back to get his coat.

"And woe to those in pregnancy and nursing in those days.
And pray that it may not happen in winter;
for those will be days of affliction,
such as has not occurred from the beginning of creation
which God created until now and never may be.
And unless the Lord had not cut short the days,
no flesh would be saved;
but because of the chosen ones whom he selected,
he cut short the days.

"And then if anyone tells you, 'Look, here is the Christ,
look there,' do not believe;
but false Christs and false prophets will be raised,
and they will perform miracles and wonders to lead astray,
if possible, the chosen ones.

"But you watch; I have foretold you everything.
But in those days after that affliction
the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light,
and the stars will be falling out of heaven,
and the powers in heaven will be shaken.
And they will see the human son
coming in clouds with much power and glory.
And then he will send the angels,
and they will gather his chosen ones out of the four winds
from the end of the earth to the end of heaven.

"And from the fig tree learn the parable:
when its branch already is tender and the leaves sprout,
you know that summer is near;
so also, when you see those things happening,
know that it is near at the doors.

"Amen, I tell you that this generation may not pass away
until all these things happen.
Heaven and earth will pass away,
but my words will not pass away.
Mark 13:1-31

And going out Jesus went from the temple,
and his disciples approached
to show him the buildings of the temple.

And answering he said to them,
"Do you not see all these things?
Amen, I tell you, no stone will be left here on a stone
which will not be thrown down."

And as he was sitting on the Mount of Olives,
the disciples approached him privately
saying, "Tell us, when will these things be,
and what will be the sign of your presence
and of the ending of the age?"

And Jesus answering said to them,
"See that no one leads you astray.
For many will come in my name saying, 'I am the Christ,'
and they will lead many astray.

"And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars;
see that you are not disturbed;
for it must happen, but it is not yet the end.
For nation will be raised against nation
and sovereignty against sovereignty,
and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places;
but all these things are the beginning of birth pangs.

"Then they will give you over to affliction and will kill you,
and you will be hated by all the nations because of my name.
And then many will be offended
and will give each other over and hate each other;
and many false prophets will be raised
and will lead many astray;
and because of the increase of lawlessness
the love of many will grow cold.

"But whoever endures to the end, the same will be saved.
And this good message of the sovereignty will be preached
in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations,
and the end will come.

"So when you see the devastating abomination
spoken through the prophet Daniel standing in the holy place,
let the one reading understand,
then let those in Judea flee to the mountains,
let the one on the roof
not come down to take things out of his house,
and let the one in the field not turn back to get his coat.

"And woe to those in pregnancy and nursing in those days.
And pray that your flight not be in winter or on a Sabbath;
for there will be great affliction,
such as has not occurred from the beginning of the world
until now and which may not happen.
And unless those days had been cut short,
no flesh would be saved;
but because of the chosen ones those days will be cut short.

"Then if anyone says to you, 'Look, here is the Christ,'
or 'Here,' do not believe;
for false Christs and false prophets will be raised,
and they will give great signs and wonders,
in order to lead astray, if possible, even the chosen ones.

"Look, I have foretold you.
So if they say to you,
'Look, he is in the desert,' do not go out;
'Look, in the inner rooms,' do not believe;
for as the lightning comes out of the east
and shines to the west,
so will be the presence of the human son;
wherever the corpse may be there the eagles will gather.

"And immediately after the affliction of those days
the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light,
and the stars will fall from heaven,
and the powers of heaven will be shaken.

"And then will appear the sign of the human son in heaven,
and then all the tribes of earth will mourn
and will see the human son coming on the clouds of heaven
with power and much glory;
and he will send his angels with a great trumpet,
and they will gather his chosen ones out of the four winds
from the ends of the heavens up to their ends.

"And from the fig tree learn the parable:
when its branch is already tender and the leaves sprout,
you know that summer is near;
so also when you see all these things,
know that it is near at the doors.

"Amen, I tell you that this generation may not pass away
until all these things happen.
Heaven and earth will pass away,
but my words will not pass away.
Matthew 24:1-35

And when some were talking about the temple,
that it was adorned with beautiful stones and offerings,
he said, "Of these things which you see,
days will come in which not a stone on a stone
will be left which will not be overthrown."

And they questioned him saying,
"Teacher, then when will these things be?
And what will be the sign when they are about to happen?"

And he said, "See that you are not led astray;
for many will come in my name
saying, 'I am he,' and, 'The time has drawn near;'
do not go after them.
And when you hear of wars and revolutions,
do not be frightened;
for these things must happen first,
but the end is not immediate."

Then he said to them, "Nation will be raised against nation
and sovereignty against sovereignty,
and there will be great earthquakes
and plagues and famines in various places,
and there will be terrors and great signs from heaven.

"But before all these things
they will lay their hands on you and persecute you,
giving you over to the synagogues and prisons,
being led away to kings and governors on account of my name;
it will lead you to testimony.

"So put it into your hearts
not to practice beforehand your defense;
for I will give you a mouth and wisdom,
which all those opposing you
will not be able to resist or contradict.

"And you will be given over also by parents
and brothers and relatives and friends,
and they will put some of you to death,
and you will be hated by all because of my name.
Yet not a hair of your head will perish;
by your patience you will win your souls.

"But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies,
then know that its devastation has drawn near.
Then let those in the middle of it depart,
and let those in the country not go into it,
for these are days of punishment
to fulfill all that has been written.

"Woe to those in pregnancy and nursing in those days;
for there will be great distress on the earth
and wrath upon this people,
and they will fall by the edge of the sword
and will be led captive to all the nations,
and Jerusalem will be trampled on by nations,
until the seasons of the nations are fulfilled.

"And there will be signs in sun and moon and stars,
and on the earth anguish of nations in confusion
at the noise of the sea and waves,
people fainting from fear and expectation
of what is coming into the world;
for the powers of heaven will be shaken.

"And then they will see the human son
coming in a cloud with power and much glory.
And as these things begin to happen,
stand up and lift your hands,
because your redemption is drawing near."

And he told a parable to them:
"Look at the fig tree and all the trees;
when they are sprouting,
seeing for yourselves you know that already summer is near;
so also when you see these things happening,
know that the sovereignty of God is near.

"Amen, I tell you that
this generation may not pass away until everything happens.
Heaven and earth will pass away,
but my words will not pass away.
