And on the next day
as they were coming from Bethany he was hungry.
And seeing a fig tree from a distance having leaves
he came to see if he would find something on it,
and coming upon it he found nothing except leaves;
for it was not the season of figs.

And answering he said to it,
"May no one ever eat fruit from you again."
And his disciples heard it.

And they come into Jerusalem.
And entering the temple
he began to throw out those selling and buying in the temple,
and he overturned the tables of the money-changers
and the seats of those selling doves,
and he did not allow anyone
to carry property through the temple,
and he taught them and said to them,
"Has it not been written

My house shall be called
a house of prayer for all the nations?

but you have made it a den of robbers."

And the high priests and the scholars heard,
and they sought how they might destroy him;
for they feared him,
for all the crowd was astonished at his teaching.
Mark 11:12-18

And early in the morning going up to the city he was hungry.
And seeing one fig tree on the way he went up to it,
and he found nothing on it except only leaves,
and he says to it, "May no fruit come from you ever again."
Matthew 21:18-19a

And Jesus entered the temple
and threw out all those selling and buying in the temple,
and he overturned the tables of the moneychangers
and the seats of those selling doves,
and he says to them, "It has been written,

My house shall be called a house of prayer,

but you make it a den of robbers."
Matthew 21:12-13

And entering the temple he began to throw out those selling,
saying to them, "It has been written,

And my house shall be a house of prayer;

but you have made it a den of robbers."

And he was teaching daily in the temple;
but the high priests and the scholars
and the foremost of the people sought to destroy him,
and they did not discover what they should do;
for all the people were hanging out listening to him.
Luke 19:45-48

And it was near the Passover of the Jews,
and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
And he found in the temple
those selling cattle and sheep and doves,
and the money-changers seated.
And having made a whip out of rope
he threw them all out of the temple, the sheep and the cattle,
and he poured out the coins
and overturned the tables of the money-changers,
and to those selling doves, he said, "Take these away from here;
do not make my Father's house a market."
His disciples remembered that it is written:

Zeal for your house will consume me.

Therefore the Jews answered and said to him,
"What sign do you show us, since you do these things?"

Jesus answered and said to them, "Destroy this temple,
and in three days I will raise it."

So the Jews said, "This temple was built in forty-six years,
and will you raise it in three days?"
But he was talking about the temple of his body.
So when he was raised from the dead,
his disciples remembered that he said this,
and they believed the scripture and the word which Jesus said.
John 2:13-22

And when it got late, he went out outside the city.
And passing along early in the morning
they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots.
And Peter remembering says to him, "Rabbi, look,
the fig tree which you cursed has dried up."

And Jesus answering says to them, "Have faith in God.
Amen, I tell you that whoever says to this mountain,
'Be picked up and thrown into the sea,'
and does not doubt in one's heart
but believes that what one speaks happens,
one will have it.

"For this reason I tell you,
everything for which you pray and ask,
believe that you received it, and you will have it.
And when you stand praying,
forgive if you have anything against anyone,
so that your Father in heaven
may also forgive you your transgressions."
Mark 11:19-25

And the fig tree was dried up at once.
And the disciples seeing marveled
saying, "How was the fig tree dried up at once?"

And Jesus answering said to them, "Amen, I tell you,
if you have faith and do not doubt,
not only will you do what was done with the fig tree,
but also if you say to this mountain,
'Be picked up and thrown into the sea,' it will happen;
and everything which you ask in prayer believing
you will receive."
Matthew 21:19b-22
