Jesus seeing the crowd around him
gave orders to go away to the other side.

And one scholar approaching said to him,
"Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go."

And Jesus says to him,
"The foxes have holes and the birds of heaven nests,
but the human son has no place where he may lay his head."

And another of the disciples said to him,
"Lord, permit me first to go away and bury my father."

But Jesus says to him, "Follow me,
and let the dead bury the dead themselves."
Matthew 8:18-22

And as they were traveling on the road someone said to him,
"I will follow you wherever you go."

And Jesus said to him,
"The foxes have holes and the birds of heaven nests,
but the human son has no place where he may lay his head."

And he said to another, "Follow me."
But he said, "Permit me first going away to bury my father."
But he said to him, "Let the dead bury the dead themselves,
but you going away announce the sovereignty of God."

And another also said, "I will follow you, Lord;
but first permit me to say goodby to the ones in my house."

But Jesus said to him, "No one putting his hand to the plow
and looking at the things behind
is fit for the sovereignty of God."
Luke 9:57-62

Jesus said, "The foxes have their holes
and the birds have their nests,
but the human son has no place to lay his head and rest."
Thomas 86

And he said to them on that day as evening came,
"Let us go over to the other side."
And leaving the crowd they take him along as he was in the boat,
and other boats were with him.
And a great whirlwind occurs, and the waves broke into the boat,
so that now the boat was being filled.
And he was in the stern sleeping on a pillow.

And they wake him and say to him,
"Teacher, don't you even care that we are perishing?"

And waking up he reprimanded the wind
and said to the sea, "Be quiet! Shut up!"
And the wind ceased, and it became very calm.
And he said to them, "Why are you such cowards?
How come you have no faith?"

And they were afraid with great awe,
and said to each other, "Who then is this,
that even the wind and the sea obey him?"
Mark 4:35-41

And as he embarked in the boat, his disciples followed him.
And look, a great storm occurred on the sea,
so that the boat was covered by the waves;
but he was sleeping.
And approaching they woke him saying,
"Lord, save, we are perishing."

And he says to them,
"Why are you cowards, you of little faith?"
Then rising he reprimanded the winds and the sea,
and it became very calm.

And the people marveled saying, "What kind of person is this,
that even the winds and the sea obey him?"
Matthew 8:23-27

And it happened one day that he and his disciples
embarked in a boat, and he said to them,
"Let us go over to the other side of the lake;"
and they were being filled up and were in danger.

And approaching they woke him saying,
"Master, master, we are perishing."

But waking up he reprimanded the wind
and the roughness of the water;
and they stopped, and it became calm.
And he said to them, "Where is your faith?"

And afraid they marveled,
saying to each other, "Who then is this,
that he commands even the winds and the water,
and they obey him?"
Luke 8:22-25

And they came to the other side of the sea
to the country of the Gerasenes.
And as he was coming out of the boat,
immediately a person from the tombs
with an unclean spirit met him,
who had his dwelling among the tombs,
and no one could bind him with a chain anymore,
for he had often been bound with shackles and chains,
and the chains and shackles had been broken
and torn apart by him,
and no one was strong enough to control him;
and through all the night and day
among the tombs and in the mountains
he was crying out and cutting himself with stones.

And seeing Jesus from a distance he ran and worshipped him,
and crying out with a loud voice he says,
"What are you to me, Jesus son of God the highest?
I implore you by God, do not torture me!"

For he said to him,
"Come out unclean spirit from this person."
And he questioned him, "What is your name?"

And he says to him, "My name is Legion, for we are many."
And he begged him much that
he should not send them outside the country.
And there near the mountain was a great herd of pigs feeding;
and they begged him saying, "Send us into the pigs,
that we may enter into them."

And he permitted them.
And coming out the unclean spirits entered into the pigs,
and the herd rushed down the steep slope into the sea,
about two thousand, and they were drowned in the sea.

And the ones feeding them fled
and reported in the city and in the country;
and they came to see what it was that happened.
And they came to Jesus,
and see the demoniac sitting clothed and sensible,
the one who had had the legion, and they were afraid.
And the ones seeing related to them
how it happened with the demoniac and about the pigs.
And they began to beg him to go away from their region.

And as he embarked in the boat,
the demoniac begged him that he might be with him.
And he did not let him, but he says to him,
"Go into your house to your people, and report to them
what the Lord has done for you and the mercy shown you."
And he went away and began to proclaim in the Decapolis
what Jesus had done for him, and everyone marveled.
Mark 5:1-20

And as he came to the other side
to the country of the Gadarenes,
two demoniacs coming out of the tombs met him,
who were extremely violent,
so that no one could pass through that way.
And look, they cried out saying,
"What are you to us, son of God?
Did you come here before the time to torture us?"
And there was distant from them a herd of many pigs feeding.
And the demons begged him saying, "If you expel us,
send us into the herd of pigs."

And he said to them, "Go."
And coming out they went away into the pigs;
and look, all the herd rushed down the steep slope into the sea,
and died in the water.
And the ones feeding them fled,
and going away into the city
reported everything and about the demoniacs.
And look, all the city came out to a meeting with Jesus,
and seeing him they begged that he might move from their region.
Matthew 8:28-34

And they sailed to the country of the Gerasenes,
which is opposite Galilee.
And as he was coming out on to the land,
a certain man from the city having demons met him,
and for a considerable time he had not worn clothes,
and did not stay in a house but among the tombs.

And seeing Jesus he cried out falling before him
and said in a loud voice,
"What are you to me, Jesus son of the highest?
I am asking you, do not torture me."
For he directed the unclean spirit to come out from the person.
For many times it had seized him,
and he was bound with chains and shackles, guarded,
and tearing the bindings apart
he was driven by the demon into the deserts.

And Jesus questioned him, "What is your name?"

And he said, "Legion," because many demons entered into him.
And they begged him that he should not order them
to go away into the abyss.
And a herd of many pigs was there feeding on the mountain;
and they begged him that he should permit them
to enter into those; and he permitted them.

And coming out from the person
the demons entered into the pigs,
and the herd rushed down the steep slope
into the lake and drowned.

And the ones feeding seeing what happened fled
and reported in the city and in the country.
And they went out to see what happened, and came to Jesus,
and found the person from whom the demons had come out
sitting clothed and sensible by the feet of Jesus,
and they were afraid.

And the ones seeing reported to them
how the demoniac was healed.
And all the population of the Gerasene neighborhood
asked him to go away from them,
because they were distressed with great fear;
and embarking in a boat he returned.

But the man from whom the demons had gone out
asked to be with him;
but he sent him away saying, "Return to your home,
and relate what God did for you."
And he went away proclaiming throughout the city
what Jesus did for him.
