Thomas 99

And he goes into a house; and again a crowd gathers,
so that they were not able to eat bread.
And his relatives hearing went out to get him;
for they said, "He is out of it."

And the scholars who came down from Jerusalem
said, "He has Beelzebub,
and by the ruler of the demons he expels demons."

And calling to them he spoke to them in parables:
"How can Satan expel Satan?
And if a sovereignty is divided against itself,
that sovereignty cannot stand;
and if a house is divided against itself,
that house will not be able to stand.
And if Satan stood up against himself and was divided,
he cannot stand, but he has an end.

"But no one entering the house of the strong
can rob his property,
unless he first bind the strong,
and then he will rob his house.

"Amen, I tell you that all the sins
and slanders which they may slander
will be forgiven to the human sons;
but whoever slanders against the Holy Spirit,
has no forgiveness ever, but is guilty of an eternal sin."
For they said, "He has an unclean spirit."
Mark 3:20-30

Jesus said, "It is not possible
for one to enter the house of a strong man,
and take it by force unless he bind his hands;
then he will rob his house."
Thomas 35

Jesus said, "The sovereignty of the Father is like someone
who wanted to kill an important person
He drew the sword in his house and stuck it in the wall,
in order to know whether his hand was strong enough.
Then he killed the important person."
Thomas 98

Jesus said, "Whoever slanders the Father will be forgiven,
and whoever slanders the son will be forgiven,
but whoever slanders the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven,
neither on earth nor in heaven."
Thomas 44

Then a blind and dumb demoniac was brought to him;
and he healed him, so that the one dumb could speak and see.
And all the crowds were astonished
and said, "Is this the son of David?"

But the Pharisees hearing said, "He does not expel demons
except by Beelzebub who rules the demons."

But aware of their thoughts he said to them,
"Every sovereignty divided against itself is deserted,
and every city or house divided against itself will not stand.
And if Satan expels Satan, he is divided against himself;
how then will his sovereignty stand?

"And if I expel demons by Beelzebub,
by whom do your sons expel them?
Because of this they will be your judges.
But if I expel demons by the Spirit of God,
then the sovereignty of God has come upon you.

"Or how can someone enter the house of the strong
and rob his property, unless one first binds the strong?
and then one will rob his house.

"Whoever is not with me is against me,
and whoever is not gathering with me scatters.

"Because of this I tell you,
every sin and slander will be forgiven people,
but the slander of the Spirit will not be forgiven.
And whoever says a word against the human son,
it will be forgiven one;
but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit,
it will not be forgiven one
neither in this age nor in the coming one.

"Either make the tree beautiful and its fruit beautiful,
or make the tree rotten and its fruit rotten;
for from the fruit the tree is known.

"Products of vipers, how can you speak good things being bad?
For from the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks.
The good person from the good treasure puts out good things,
and the bad person from the bad treasure puts out bad things.

"But I tell you that every idle saying which people speak,
they will pay for concerning its meaning on the day of judgment;
for from your words you will be justified,
and from your words you will be condemned."

Then some of the scholars and Pharisees answered him
saying, "Teacher, we wish to see a sign from you."

Answering he said to them,
"A bad and adulterous generation demands a sign,
and a sign will not be given to it
except the sign of Jonah the prophet.

For as Jonah was in the belly of a sea monster
three days and three nights,
so will the human son be in the heart of the earth
three days and three nights.

"The men of Nineveh will stand up at the judgment
with this generation and condemn it;
for they changed their minds at the preaching of Jonah,
and look, one greater than Jonah is here.

"The queen of the south will arise at the judgment
with this generation and condemn it;
for she came from the ends of the earth
to hear the wisdom of Solomon,
and look, one greater than Solomon is here.

"And when an unclean spirit comes out from a person,
it goes through waterless places seeking rest,
and it does not find it.
Then it says, 'I will return to my house where I came from;'
and going it finds it empty, swept, and put in order.
Then it goes and brings along with it
seven other spirits worse than itself,
and entering it lives there;
and the final state of that person becomes worse than the first.
Thus will it be also for this bad generation."
Matthew 12:22-45

And he was expelling a demon, and it was dumb;
and it happened as the demon was going out
that the one dumb spoke;
and the crowds marveled;
but some of them said, "He expels the demons
by Beelzebub the ruler of the demons;"
and others testing sought from him a sign from heaven.

But he aware of their thoughts said to them,
"Every sovereignty divided against itself is ruined,
and a house against a house falls.
And also if Satan were divided against himself,
how would his sovereignty stand?
for you say that my expelling of demons is by Beelzebub.

"But if I expel the demons by Beelzebub,
by what do your sons expel them?
For this reason they will be your judges.

"But if I expel the demons by the finger of God,
then the sovereignty of God has come upon you.

"When the armed strong one guards his courtyard,
his belongings are in order;
but when a stronger one than he attacking overcomes him,
he take his armor, upon which he had relied,
and distributes the spoils.

"Whoever is not with me is against me,
and whoever does not gather with me scatters.

"When an unclean spirit goes out from a person,
he goes through waterless places searching for rest,
and not finding it he says,
'I will return to my house where I came from;'
and coming he finds it swept and furnished.
Then he goes and takes along
seven other spirits worse than himself,
and entering he lives there;
and the last state of that person
becomes worse than the first."

And it happened as he was saying these things
that a certain woman raising her voice from the crowd
said to him, "Blessed is the womb that bore you
and the breasts that you sucked."

But he said, "Blessed rather are those
hearing the word of God and keeping it."
Luke 11:14-28

A woman in the crowd said to him,
"Blessed is the womb which bore you
and the breasts which nourished you."

He said to her, "Blessed are those
who have heard the word of the Father
and have kept it in truth.
For there will be days when you will say,
'Blessed is the womb which has not conceived
and the breasts which have not suckled."
Thomas 79

And with the crowds increasing he began to say,
"This generation is a bad generation; it seeks a sign,
and a sign will not be given to it except the sign of Jonah.
For just as Jonah became a sign to the Ninevites,
so also will the human son be to this generation.

"The southern queen will be raised at the judgment
with the men of this generation and will condemn them;
because she came from the ends of the earth
to listen to Solomon's wisdom,
and look, one greater than Solomon is here.

"Nineveh men will stand up at the judgment
with this generation and will condemn it;
because they changed their minds at the preaching of Jonah,
and look, one greater than Jonah is here.
Luke 11:29-32

And his mother and his brothers come,
and standing outside they sent to him calling him.
And a crowd was sitting around him, and they say to him,
"Look, your mother and your brothers and your sisters
are looking for you outside."

And answering he says to them,
"Who is my mother and brothers?"
And looking around at those sitting in a circle around him
he says, "Look, my mother and my brothers.
Whoever does the will of God,
this one is my brother and sister and mother."
Mark 3:31-35

While he was speaking to the crowds,
look, his mother and brothers stood outside
seeking to speak with him.
And someone said to him,
"Look, your mother and your brothers are standing outside
seeking to speak with you."

And answering he said to the one talking to him,
"Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?"
And holding out his hand toward his disciples
he said, "Look, my mother and my brothers.
For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven,
the same is my brother and sister and mother."
Matthew 12:46-50

And his mother and brothers came to him,
and were not able to join him due to the crowd.
And it was reported to him, "Your mother and your brothers
are standing outside wishing to see you."

And answering he said to them, "My mother and my brothers
are these who are hearing and practicing the word of God."
Luke 8:19-21

The disciples said to him,
"Your brothers and your mother are standing outside."

He said to them, "Those here who do the will of my Father,
they are my brothers and my mother;
these are the ones who will enter the sovereignty of my Father."
Thomas 99
