JESUS THE CHRIST

Mark 1:12-13
Matthew 4:1-11
Luke 4:1-13

And immediately the Spirit drove him out into the desert.
And he was in the desert forty days being tested by Satan,
and he was with wild beasts,
and the angels ministered to him.
Mark 1:12-13

Then Jesus was led into the desert by the Spirit
to be tested by the devil.
And having fasted forty days and forty nights,
afterward he was hungry.
And the approaching tempter said to him,
"If you are the son of God, tell these stones to become bread."

But answering he said, "It has been written:

Not on bread alone shall the human live,
but on every saying proceeding out of the mouth of God."

Then the devil takes him along to the holy city
and set him on the pinnacle of the temple,
and says to him, "If you are the son of God, throw yourself down;
for it has been written,

He will command his angels concerning you
and on hands they will lift you up
lest you strike your foot against a stone."

Jesus said to him, "Again it has been written:

You shall not tempt the Lord your God."

Again the devil takes him along to a very high mountain,
and shows him all the sovereignties of the world and their glory,
and he said to him, "All these things I will give you,
if falling down you will worship me."

Then Jesus says to him, "Go, Satan; for it has been written:

You shall worship the Lord your God
and him only shall you serve."

Then the devil leaves him,
and look, angels approached and ministered to him.
Matthew 4:1-11

And Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan,
and was led by the Spirit in the desert for forty days
being tested by the devil.
And he did not eat anything in those days,
and when they were completed, he was hungry.
And the devil said to him, "If you are the son of God,
tell this stone to become bread."

And Jesus answered to him, "It has been written,

Not on bread alone shall the human live."

And leading him up he showed him all the sovereignties
of the inhabited earth in a moment of time.
And the devil said to him,
"I will give you all this authority and their glory,
for it has been given over to me
and to whomever I wish to give it;
therefore if you worship before me, it will all be yours."

And Jesus answering said to him, "It has been written:

You shall worship the Lord your God
and him only shall you serve."

And he led him into Jerusalem
and set him on the pinnacle of the temple,
and said to him, "If you are the son of God,
throw yourself down from here;
for it has been written,

He will command his angels
concerning you to protect you,
and on hands they will lift you up,
lest you strike your foot against a stone."

And Jesus answering said to him, "It has been said:

You shall not tempt the Lord your God."

And having completed every test,
the devil went away from him until an opportune time.
Luke 4:1-13
